We may have answers.

The practical details about supported cloud providers, Patreon and Memberful eligibility, protected file delivery, and monthly transfer allowances.

What is Exoshar?

Exoshar is a membership-authentication and download-delivery gateway in development. It is designed to protect files and folders in supported cloud storage services without becoming another place to store or organize your files.

Which cloud storage services will it work with?

Exoshar is being built for multiple storage providers, with integrations released separately. Google Drive is in development and MEGA is being evaluated. Additional connections may follow. No provider connection is publicly available yet.

Will I need to move or duplicate my files?

No. You will continue storing and organizing files with your cloud provider. Exoshar is designed to add protected member access to those files.

How does creator setup work?

Connect a supported storage service through its integration, choose a file or folder, connect Patreon or Memberful, select eligible memberships, then create an Exoshar link. Setup details will differ between providers.

Does it support Patreon and Memberful?

Both are part of the product plan. A creator will be able to select allowed Patreon tiers or Memberful passes for a protected share. Memberful creator setup may require a Custom Application.

Do subscribers need an Exoshar account?

No separate Exoshar subscriber account is planned. They authenticate with their Patreon or Memberful identity when opening a protected link.

What happens with a single file link?

After membership verification, an eligible subscriber's download is designed to start automatically, without a second landing page or download button.

Can I protect entire folders?

Yes. The planned folder experience is a read-only browser with subfolder navigation and individual file downloads. Exoshar will not assemble server-side ZIP archives of entire folders.

Can anyone use a forwarded Exoshar link?

Possessing the URL does not grant access. Exoshar checks whether the subscriber meets the share's membership rules. It cannot prevent someone from redistributing a file after legitimately downloading it.

What happens if a subscriber cancels or changes tiers?

Exoshar is designed to check current eligibility on each new access. Entering an allowed tier may grant access; leaving it prevents new protected downloads.

Do subscribers see my original storage download URL?

The gateway is designed to deliver authorized file data without handing out upstream download URLs or provider credentials. The exact integration requirements depend on the storage service.

Is Exoshar the same product as Exostor?

No. Exostor hosts files in its own cloud storage service. Exoshar is a separate Exostor LLC product for protecting delivery of files creators already host elsewhere.

How do the monthly allowances work?

Proposed plans meter downloaded data relayed through Exoshar, rather than the space used in your cloud account. Your storage provider's own fees and transfer policies still apply.

What happens when I use my transfer allowance?

The current proposal is a hard limit: downloads pause until renewal or a plan upgrade, with no automatic overage charges. Final policy will be confirmed before release.

Are the prices and integrations available now?

No. Pricing is provisional, integrations are in development, and the website does not yet offer installation, checkout, or a separate creator sign-in.
