How it works

Membership-gated sharing, wherever your files live.

Start with files in a supported cloud storage service. Create a protected link for a file or folder, choose the allowed Patreon tiers or Memberful passes, and let subscribers authenticate when they open it.

These are illustrative concepts, not screens from a released product. Storage provider integrations are in development.

01

Select a file or folder you already host.

Connect a supported cloud storage provider using its Exoshar integration. Setup varies by provider; the Google Drive add-on is still in development.

  • Work with existing files and folders.
  • No copying, re-uploading, or synchronization.
  • Keep organizing and updating your files with your storage provider.

02

Choose who gets access.

Connect your creator Patreon or Memberful account, then choose the membership tiers or passes allowed for this share.

  • Allow one tier or several.
  • Choose an individual file or an entire folder.
  • Eligibility is checked against current membership.

Post your protected link.

Put the Exoshar link in a Patreon post, Memberful email, release notes, or anywhere you normally announce your content.

  • A single file starts downloading after authentication.
  • A folder opens a read-only browser with individual file downloads.
  • No bulk ZIP generation and no separate Exoshar account for subscribers.

Membership changes

Keep the link. Access follows the member.

Subscribers don't need Exoshar accounts, and creators don't need to maintain per-subscriber cloud permission lists.

UpgradeThey enter an allowed tier.

The protected share starts opening for them.

DowngradeThey leave an eligible tier.

They can no longer authorize new downloads through that link.

CancellationThe qualifying membership ends.

The link stays posted, but access no longer authorizes.

Same link, current rules. The original files stay with your storage provider.

Where Exoshar fits

Keep the storage. Add membership to the share.

Your storage provider keeps the files. Patreon or Memberful handles memberships. Exoshar connects the two for protected, entitlement-checked delivery.

This compares planned membership verification with ordinary link sharing. Provider-specific controls and availability vary; Exoshar cannot stop a subscriber from redistributing a file after download.

Your cloud. Your way to share.

Exoshar is being designed for multiple cloud storage providers. Google Drive's Marketplace integration is in development and MEGA is under evaluation. Provider releases and setup methods will be announced separately; no public installation is available yet.
